The U.S. is one of only two countries (the other is New Zealand) who, by way of the FDA, allows drug companies to advertise directly to the consumer–more and more addictive prescriptions.  I guess that helps finance the disorders listed on the new DSM IV, which has increased to three times the amount listed in the first manual.  So, what came first: the disease (ADHD, for instance) or the drug?
